October 1st, was the day. At Google’s Amsterdam headquarters 9 high-potential entrepreneurs pitched their startup in front of a stellar professional jury consisting of Melissa Raczak (Deloitte), Janneke Niessen (Improve Digital), Laurens Groenendijk (Happy Investments) and Anne van der Zwaag (OBJECT Rotterdam).
After an afternoon filled with inspiring pitches, guided by trendwatcher and author Lieke Lamb, the jury announced the three finalists who will battle it out on the TEDxAmsterdamWomen stage on October 28th:
Renske de Bruine – Mount Software
Renske de Bruine is one the finalists of TEDxAmsterdamWomen Startup Award and founder of Mount Software. Patients forget 80% of the information told by doctors and nurses during consultation. The remaining 20% of the recalled information is incorrect. Unfortunately, doctors and nurses have too little time to inform their patient more extensively. Therefore, the patient is not fully able to take part in the decision-making process as an equal partner. MOUNT Software helps bring patients and health providers closer together in making a medical decision.
Eline Leijten – Plugify
Plugify is an online platform for watching, listening and booking live music. Whether it’s bands or DJs, ensembles or solo-artists. Plugify simplifies the process of booking entertainment for people and offers artists the platform they deserve.
Eline Leijten:“With Plugify I want to make booking live artists or DJs more accessible”.
Anouk Visser – Birds.ai
Birds.ai analyses aerial shots and places, measure and registers assets. This vision- software can be utilised for multiple purposes, varying from assisting farmers in their decision making or the discovery of damage on wind turbines.
Anouk Visser: “With Birds.ai we analyse, through computer models and machine- learning, large quantities of space. How will you find rhinoceros, for example? We have a solution for that. I look forward to pitching on the TED-stage on October 28th”.

In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TED has created a program called TEDx. TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. Our event is called TEDxAmsterdamWomen, where x = independently organized TED event.
At our TEDxAmsterdamWomen event, TEDTalks video and live speakers will combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events, including ours, are self-organized.
