Once again TEDxAmsterdamWomen kicked off the road to their conference in November with a partner event at the generous and exquisitely designed Andaz hotel. Almost 70 men and women gathered to be part of the start of this year’s event and were treated to a selection of our speakers who represent the theme of the upcoming conference:
Present, Future. Bridging the gap.
In this blogpost we give you a sneak preview. Who will deliver their TEDtalks? And will there be a thrilling new edition of the Startup Award? Read on and you’ll find out.
Goddesses of Wine – Redefining the winemaking industry
The first speaker of the evening, Senay Ozdemir, strives to bring women to the table in an industry dominated by men. From the cradle of wine, Turkey, she presents to us some of the most famous female winemakers who are part of this transformation. She is a Goddess of Wine and you can be one as well!
Beatles & Balancing the Bridge
Of course no TEDxAmsterdamWomen event is complete without music and when combined with a guided session of mindful breathing, guided by her cello and voice, we understand how Evelien Fokker, has been able to find balance, clarity and answers in her life.
Let’s get Started!
Will there be another TEDxAmsterdamWomen Startup Award? Of course there will be! And this is the moment it all starts! The TEDxAmsterdamWomen Startup Award 2017 journey has begun. On the 28th of September ten new, innovative, brave and promising entrepreneurs will battle it out for the honor of one of the coveted three finalist spots at the main event in November. We make oxygen
In the spirit of the upcoming Startup Award, Startup Award alumni Rooflife gave the audience a presentation of their impressive Urban garden concepts. Seeing them present some of the fantastic projects (e.g. Zoku) is the living proof that the Startup Award can be kickstart for a successful career.
Our survival is victory too
The last speaker of the evening was the impressive Hélène Christelle. Through her bewitching personal style and raw emotional presentation Hélène brought silence, compassion and possibly recognition to the room. Her struggle to find an identity in a country that is not her own resonates in today’s society and struck a chord no doubt within all of us.
Do everything you can!
As the night came to an end our partners Deloitte and ABN Amro share their views of how, being part of this event, has changed their own organisations and emphasize to all the guests: Do everything you can to become a partner! Do you want to be a partner of TEDxAmsterdamWomen as well? Please contact TEDxAmsterdamWomen founder Marian Spier: firstname.lastname@example.org
